A 23-year-old Spanaway man charged in a deadly crash last year on Canyon Road made his first court appearance this morning.
Christopher Stuart Doty pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and failure to have an ignition interlock device. Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Doty held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000.
Prosecutors allege Doty was driving an Oldsmobile Cierra when it crashed about 9 p.m. Oct. 1 in the 18500 block of Canyon Road. The car’s passenger, 25-year-old Dylan T. Duff, died.
